Disneyland’s MagicBand+ product is nearing its end as smartphone usage increases, leading to a decline in demand. While officials confirmed that the band will remain a fun interactive experience, it will only be sold at Disneystore.com and Walt Disney World Resort.
Reports indicate that supply has dwindled at retail locations within the park, and marketing efforts have focused on using remaining inventory without additional shipments. The MagicBand+ initially debuted at Walt Disney World in 2013 and was introduced to Disneyland in 2022. It featured a silicone strap that acted as park admission, access to Lightning Lane, and offered unique experiences like glowing during events.
The growing predominance of smartphones and the Disney Magic mobile app—allowing access to tickets and food orders—has contributed to the MagicBand+’s decline in popularity. Although the band will still function for those who own one, its retail presence is diminishing, reflecting a shift toward mobile technology for park experiences.
