Human remains have been discovered in a Tampa Bay waterway, linked to the search for Nahida Bristi, a missing University of Florida doctoral student. The remains were found near the Howard Frankland Bridge in Pinellas County and have not yet been identified. Bristi, 27, disappeared alongside another student, Zamir Limon, who was also reported missing.
Hisham Abugarbi, 26, a roommate of Limon, has been arrested and charged with two counts of premeditated first-degree murder. Court documents reveal Abugarbi asked ChatGPT about disposing of bodies days before the disappearances, indicating he had planned the act.
Limon’s body was found decomposed among black trash bags, and authorities suspect Bristi was disposed of similarly. An autopsy for Limon confirmed a homicide from numerous stab wounds. Detective investigations found significant blood stains in the apartment shared by Limon and Abugarbi, and Abugarbi himself had lacerations on his body. He is currently being held without bond and is set to appear in court shortly.
