Cathay Pacific is set to reopen its flagship Wing First Class Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport on April 22, 2026, after an extensive renovation. This new design aims to elevate the airline’s lounge experience significantly, partnering again with London-based StudioIlse for a blend of contemporary design and residential comfort.
Key features include:
- The Atrium: A bright, casual dining space with a rotating menu and self-service snacks.
- Dining Room: A more formal area offering a la carte Asian and international cuisine, reminiscent of The Pier Lounge.
- The Retreat: A new area featuring seven private booths for relaxation and spa treatments.
- The Alcove: Multi-purpose booths for comfort and privacy, equipped with charging facilities.
- Shower Suites: Newly designed, but they replace the previously adored cabanas.
Despite the impressive enhancements, access to the lounge will initially be restricted. Currently, it will only be available to Cathay Pacific First Class passengers and top-tier Diamond members, unlike previous policies allowing all oneworld first class passengers and Emerald members. This change comes amid expected high demand for the newly renovated lounge.
Overall, while the updated Wing First Class Lounge promises luxury and sophistication, its initial exclusivity raises concerns about access for loyal travelers from partner airlines. The long-term access policies remain to be seen.
