Two men were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting at Triangle Town Center in Raleigh, N.C., during an altercation between two groups around 3:30 p.m. on Friday. A third person was also shot but is expected to recover. Witnesses reported escalating tensions and gunfire, with one individual noting hearing multiple shots and seeking shelter.
Raleigh police responded with a large deployment, including K-9 units and drones, to search the surrounding area, which included woodland near a nearby hotel and a neighborhood where children had just returned home from school. Police recovered a weapon at the scene but had no suspect information. Later, two individuals were detained at a hospital for causing a disturbance, though it was unclear if they were connected to the shooting.
Authorities reassured the public that there was no ongoing threat, and by 8:45 p.m., the mall was cleared for public access after the scene was processed. This incident follows another unrelated shooting at the same mall just a week earlier.
