His hearing is scheduled for April 28 in Brooklyn federal court, moved up from May 6 due to stakeholder requests. Previously, Jones pleaded not guilty to a charge related to selling non-public injury information about players LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Jones is facing charges of wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering, having been arrested alongside notable figures such as Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups. Prosecutors allege that he provided critical injury information to sports bettors, leading to significant financial bets based on this inside knowledge.
In addition, Jones has been linked to a poker scheme involving rigged games and organized crime, where he was reportedly paid to cheat during matches. The operation reportedly involved multiple crime families, and players used sophisticated methods to manipulate the games.
After a successful basketball career from 1999 to 2009, where he made over $20 million, Jones has continued in the sport as a coach and consultant, working closely with LeBron James.
