An Iranian ballistic missile strike in central Israel on late Friday resulted in one death and several injuries. This marked the sixth attack from Iran that day. The missile used a cluster bomb warhead, which dispersed submunitions across a wide area, ultimately killing a 52-year-old man who was outside an air raid shelter at the time. He had previously sustained injuries due to an earlier Iranian attack.
Additionally, minor injuries were reported from another submunition hitting a residential building. Emergency services treated various sites where these munitions landed, and some individuals were injured by debris during the interception of an earlier missile.
On Saturday, Iran launched more missile salvos targeting southern and central Israel, though no injuries were reported. The ongoing conflict has resulted in 16 Israeli civilians and four Palestinians in the West Bank killed since the war began on February 28. Israel claims a 92% intercept rate for attacks, despite over 450 missiles fired by Iran during the conflict.
