Four Seattle teenagers were arrested in Portland after a violent gas station robbery early Friday morning, during which an employee was shot five times. The incident occurred at a convenience store on Northeast Broadway around 4:45 a.m. The victim was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Evidence linked this crime to previous violent incidents involving the same group, leading police to locate their vehicle soon after the robbery. A subsequent raid on a home resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals and the recovery of four firearms, at least one of which was used in past robberies.
The suspects, aged 15 to 17, faced serious charges, including attempted murder and multiple counts of armed robbery. They had also been involved in other violent crimes, including a carjacking and another armed robbery earlier in the week.
Authorities emphasize the collaborative efforts of law enforcement in apprehending the suspects quickly and are continuing their investigation to uncover further details and connections to other crimes. Sergeant Kevin Allen expressed concern for community safety and the ongoing impact of such violence.
