Apple has filed a lawsuit against Jon Prosser in the Northern District of California, alleging he misappropriated trade secrets and violated computer fraud laws. The lawsuit highlights how another defendant, Michael Ramacciotti, accessed sensitive information about the unreleased iOS 19 while staying at an Apple employee’s home, Ethan Lipnik. Ramacciotti allegedly tracked Lipnik to gain access to a development iPhone, which he showcased in recorded videos shared by Prosser on his YouTube channel, generating revenue from the leaks.
Apple is seeking punitive damages, an injunction against further misuse of its confidential information, and the return or destruction of any stolen data. Prosser has since countered Apple’s claims on social media, providing his perspective on how he obtained information about the iOS interface. Further developments are anticipated as the case unfolds.
