In response to these injuries, the Mariners are exploring potential trades, although significant deals at this point in the season are uncommon. The front office is searching for veteran players from other teams and considering those with minor league contracts who may have opt-out clauses. While last season saw trades for players like Luis Ares in early May, the current high injury rates make it unlikely that many teams will engage in trading veterans this early.
