During the 20th African Lion Military Exercise in Morocco, the body of Spc. Mariyah Simone Collington, a 19-year-old U.S. Army soldier, has been found after a multinational search operation. Collington, who served in the 5th Battalion of the 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, went missing alongside Lt. Kendrick Lamont Key Jr. during an off-duty hike on May 2. The recovery operations involved over 1,000 personnel, utilizing advanced military equipment like the U.S. Navy’s P-8 Poseidon and unmanned aerial systems. Their remains are being transported back to the U.S. The incident is currently under investigation. The African Lion exercise involves over 7,000 troops from more than 30 countries, highlighting international military collaboration.
