The city of Louisville, Colorado, has intervened to save a historic caboose and boxcars after Travis Ramos, who spent five years restoring them, faced financial difficulties and decided to sell the project. The city council voted to buy half of the railroad cars and the land to preserve them in the community. Ramos expressed overwhelming joy at the decision, emphasizing the significance of continuing his vision for the town. He found the caboose in dilapidated condition and, with community support, relocated it, later acquiring a donated historic boxcar from 1898. Despite his family’s disappointment in no longer owning the cars, Ramos believes they have successfully contributed to Louisville’s heritage.
