Captain Robert Spillane and Harold Landry III have been activated for the Patriots as they prepare for Super Bowl LX, despite several players listed as inactive. Spillane, who had an ankle injury from the AFC Championship Game, practiced and is crucial for the defense, especially against the Seahawks’ strong rushing attack. The Patriots aim to limit Seattle’s run game to force them into passing situations, as they excel at third downs.
Landry, recovering from a knee injury, will contribute as a leader, although his snap count may be limited. The Patriots successfully managed without him in the title game, using Anfernee Jennings and Elijah Ponder to fill the void.
Offensively, MVP runner-up Drake Maye will lead a fully healthy squad against Seattle’s top defense, emphasizing the importance of the offensive line maintaining balance and protecting against blitzes. On special teams, rookie Efton Chism III will play a role, with added contributions from running back Dernest Johnson.
With a two-week build-up, the Patriots are focused on securing their seventh Super Bowl title against Seattle, kicking off at 6:30 p.m. ET.
