Amazon has announced that Alexa Plus, its AI-powered digital assistant, is now accessible to all Prime members in the U.S. on Alexa-enabled devices and the Alexa app. A new free tier is also available for non-Prime users, along with an option to subscribe for $20 per month for unlimited access.
Originally launched as an early access program in March 2025, Alexa Plus has grown to millions of users. It offers enhanced conversational capabilities, moving beyond simple voice commands to understanding and responding in natural language. The service is also expanding internationally, with beta programs in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.
The available tiers include:
- Alexa Plus for Prime: Unlimited access for $14.99/month or $139/year.
- Alexa Plus: Unlimited access for $19.99/month without Prime benefits.
- Alexa Plus Chat: A free chatbot-like experience for non-Prime users.
Alexa Plus can handle complex queries, manage schedules, and assist with various tasks. Since its launch, user engagement with the service has reportedly increased significantly.
