The article recounts the author’s journey from struggling with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) to embarking on a mission to visit every country in the world. Inspired by a statistic revealing that more people have been to space than visited all countries, he aimed to both travel and confront his OCD.
After graduating from the University of Miami, he backpacked primarily solo through diverse locations, including conflict zones and remote islands. He achieved his goal on April 3, 2025, when he visited North Korea, making him the youngest person to have visited every country, verified by Nomadmania.
Among the many places he visited, he highlights three cities:
-
Sydney, Australia: His favorite, known for its friendly people and beautiful beaches. The city’s welcoming atmosphere and scenic views left a lasting impression, making it a place he envisions building a life in.
-
Valletta, Malta: A historic city with a unique mix of cultural influences that felt less touristy than other European destinations. The nearby island of Gozo, with its ancient temples, added to Valletta’s charm.
- Krabi, Thailand: An unexpected gem he discovered later in his travels. Its stunning beaches and delicious local food exceeded his expectations.
Conversely, he had a less favorable experience in New Delhi, India, citing poor air quality and heavy traffic as deterrents, making it a city he does not wish to revisit despite enjoying other parts of India.
