The Sony Reon Pocket Pro Plus, a wearable thermal device, is now available in the U.S. in time for high summer temperatures. It operates hands-free, using a neckband to secure the unit at the nape of the neck, with a metal back plate cooling the body. The device is discreet and fits under clothing, though some vents are visible. It includes a wearable sensor for ambient temperature, allowing for automatic or manual temperature adjustments through a smartphone app or physical button.
Improvements over its predecessor include a 20% increase in cooling efficiency, a safety feature to prevent overheating, and a smart mode that adjusts temperature automatically. The device’s battery lasts up to 10 hours on the second coolest setting and takes about 3 hours to charge. Priced at $259.99, it is currently out of stock directly from Sony but available at other outlets. Notably, it can also be used as a warming device for colder seasons.
