Robina Aminian, a 23-year-old fashion design student in Tehran, was passionate about women’s rights and traditional Kurdish culture. She participated in anti-regime protests but was tragically shot dead during a demonstration. Despite internet blackouts, reports indicate at least 420 protesters have been killed in recent weeks, including children, due to violent crackdowns by security forces.
Witnesses described horrific scenes of violence, with bodies being treated in hospitals under grim circumstances. Families, including Aminian’s, faced difficulties retrieving their loved ones for burial. Protesters continue to brave danger in over 180 cities amidst economic turmoil, risking death or severe penalties under harsh laws.
Additionally, former bodybuilding champion Mehdi Zatparvar was also reported killed during the protests, highlighting the widespread nature of the unrest. Communications remain severely limited, complicating verification of incidents.
