Cathay Pacific Airways has launched daily direct flights between Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) and Changsha Huanghua International Airport (CSX) in Hunan province, enhancing its mainland China network. This new route, operated using the Airbus A321neo, is the airline’s fifth destination expansion in China this year.
The flights offer greater flexibility for passengers, with multiple return services on different days. With this launch, Cathay will connect to 24 destinations in mainland China, facilitating over 330 round-trip flights weekly during winter.
The new route aims to strengthen ties between Hunan and Hong Kong, promote tourism, and enhance connectivity. It enabling direct access for Hunan travelers to Hong Kong’s global network, while international visitors can reach Changsha via HKG without additional connections.
Changsha is highlighted as an authentic and affordable inland city, showcasing local culture and natural beauty. Attractions include Orange Island, Yuelu Mountain, and several historical sites. The city has a subtropical humid climate, making April, September, and October the best months to visit.
Overall, Cathay Pacific’s new service not only improves convenience for travelers but also positions the airline more competitively in Asia’s growing market.
