Idaho Falls Fourth of July Celebration Overview
Idaho Falls is preparing for its largest Independence Day celebration, expecting over 200,000 attendees. Residents and visitors should anticipate road closures and traffic delays, particularly around downtown and Snake River Landing. Key closures will affect South Tourist Park and Ryder Park starting July 3, reopening July 5. Additionally, parking restrictions are in place, with a warning that exiting parking lots may take up to two hours post-fireworks.
For safety, personal fireworks are prohibited in event areas, and attendees should plan for limited cell service and designate meeting points.
As part of America’s 250th Anniversary, the city collaborates with Community Food Basket for a fundraising campaign aiming to raise $25,000 in 25 hours, from July 3 to July 4, to support local families in need.
Event highlights include the Firecracker 5K, Liberty on Parade, Farmers Market, zoo openings, Riverfest, Funland, and the Melaleuca Freedom Celebration fireworks display. Participants are encouraged to plan ahead for a safe and enjoyable celebration.
