The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has identified Brittany Clark, a 31-year-old Orlando woman, as the victim of a fatal alligator attack. Clark was swimming with friends in the Little Big Econ State Forest when the attack occurred around 1:30 PM. Her boyfriend described her as a strong and caring individual who loved her job and the outdoors. She suffered severe injuries, including dislocated arms, and died on the way to the hospital.
Two large alligators, measuring 12 and 13 feet, have been captured, and DNA analysis will determine which, if any, was responsible for the attack. This incident marks the third alligator attack in Central Florida within the past week. Signs warning visitors about alligators are posted in the area, and Florida officials emphasize that serious injuries from alligator attacks are uncommon. A GoFundMe has been initiated to assist with repatriating Clark’s body to California.
