A plane landed safely at Boston Logan International Airport after the captain of Air Canada Flight 7664 became incapacitated mid-flight. The flight, operated by Pal Airlines, was traveling from Newark to Halifax when the incident occurred around 1:37 p.m. The co-pilot took over control and successfully diverted the aircraft to Boston. There were 61 passengers on board, and the plane landed without incident.
Passenger Rodney McDonald described sensing something was wrong when the plane’s direction changed unexpectedly. Flight attendants quickly responded, assisting the captain. Emergency services met the plane on the runway, and the captain received medical treatment.
Former Massport CEO Tom Kinton emphasized the co-pilot’s preparedness for such situations, reassuring that they are fully qualified to fly. After landing, the flight was rescheduled to depart for Halifax later that evening. McDonald expressed relief that the situation ended safely, highlighting the anxiety felt during the event.
