A portion of Interstate 285 near the Cascade Road exit in Metro Atlanta is closed for construction, starting Friday night and lasting until 5 a.m. Monday, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). This closure will result in significant detours for drivers through the normally busy area. Motorists are being directed to alternate routes, including I-20 eastbound. GDOT has advised drivers to plan for delays and to avoid the area if possible.
