Limited Run Games has withdrawn its upcoming project for the Nintendo Switch, Rugrats: Retro Rewind, which is now set for a digital release on May 15, 2026, followed by physical editions. This compilation includes six classic Rugrats games from the ’90s, featuring beloved characters like Tommy Pickles.
The titles included are:
- Rugrats: The Search for Reptar – The original 1998 adventure on PlayStation.
- The Rugrats Movie – A mission-based game tied to the film, initially for Game Boy and Game Boy Color.
- Rugrats: Time Travelers – A platformer from 1999 on Game Boy Color, involving a toy store time machine.
- Rugrats: Studio Tour – An action-adventure set in a movie studio, released on PlayStation.
- Rugrats in Paris: The Movie – Adventure in a Parisian theme park, available on multiple platforms.
- Rugrats: Castle Capers – A Game Boy Advance title about rescuing stolen toys.
The games will receive various quality-of-life updates like customizable screen filters, a "save anywhere" feature, a rewind mechanic, and a music player.
Two physical versions will be available: a standard edition including the game and a printed booklet, and a deluxe edition featuring a PS1-style case, soundtrack, Reptar keychain, and stickers. Pre-orders start on May 1, 2026.
