Marius Borg Højbi, the eldest son of Norway’s crown prince, has been arrested on new charges, including assault, threatening with a knife, and breaching a restraining order, just before his trial on serious allegations, including multiple counts of rape. The Oslo District Court has ordered him detained for up to four weeks due to potential reoffending. Højbi faces 38 charges in total, stemming from incidents between 2018 and 2024, involving intimate abuse and violence against partners, as well as drug-related charges. He denies the majority of these allegations.
