A Florida woman, Brittany Clark, was severely injured in a terrifying alligator attack while hiking with her boyfriend, Chance Allison, and roommate Jayden Hernandez in the Econlockhatchee River. The 13-foot alligator attacked, resulting in the loss of her arm. Initially, Allison thought the situation was a joke, but he quickly jumped in to help Clark, who was in distress for about 30-40 seconds.
Body camera footage showed deputies rushing to the scene as they sought to aid Clark, who was sheltered under a tent. Despite knowing there were alligators in the area, the group had swum there before without incident. Clark’s tragic situation has left Allison in shock, and he plans to celebrate her life with an event, expecting hundreds to attend.
Before being taken to the hospital, Clark asked Allison to care for their dog, Hokey. Allison has since adopted Hokey and Clark’s cat, Shady, and continues to navigate the grief from this horrific event.
