A man died by suicide following a reported shooting in Hampton, New Hampshire, early Sunday morning, per the Attorney General’s Office. Police later encountered the suspect, Tyshawn Cooper, 21, who pulled out a handgun and shot himself while an officer fired at the same moment; he was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy confirmed the cause of death as suicide. No officers were injured, and the investigation is ongoing.
