Five individuals, aged between 19 and 38, have been charged with the murder of Sam Nordquist, a 24-year-old trans man from Minnesota, who had been reported missing on February 9th. Authorities describe the case as one of the most horrifying crimes they have encountered, revealing that Nordquist suffered prolonged torture and abuse for over a month before his death. His body was discovered in a field in Benton, New York, approximately 53 miles from Rochester.
The suspects—Alzuaga, Goodwin, Sage, Kijano, and Motica—are in police custody facing second-degree murder charges. It is unclear if they have legal representation. The investigation is ongoing, with police working to clarify the suspects’ relationships with Nordquist.
