Quornelius Radford, a 28-year-old sergeant at Fort Stewart, has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault following a shooting incident that injured five soldiers. The shooting, which occurred while Radford was on duty using his personal weapon, also involved a victim who was reportedly an intimate partner of Radford. A sixth soldier was shot and killed, but it’s unclear if they were among the injured.
The military prosecutor indicated that Radford faces life imprisonment under military law. He is being held in pretrial confinement and will be transferred to a military base in South Carolina. Soldiers from Radford’s squad responded to the gunfire and provided first aid to the victims, prompting commendation from military officials. The Army has not disclosed the full details of the incident or the identities of the victims.
