Lancaster County’s Historic Preservation Trust is working to prevent the demolition of a historic home in Salisbury Township, part of the Slaymakertown historic district. The property, located along the Lincoln Highway, is believed to qualify for the National Historic Site Register. The trust’s executive director, Daniel Keperling, expressed concerns that the owners are planning to demolish it as part of development plans. Though the house is obscured by aluminum siding, it is a log building with significant historical value. The trust indicates that the property owner has not yet submitted a final plan regarding the home’s fate.
