Israeli Defense Minister Katz stated the attack served as a warning to Damascus regarding the Druze community. Despite the violence, Druze religious leaders called for a ceasefire and expressed willingness to engage with the Syrian government. However, some Druze leaders demanded international protection and opposed government security interventions.
The Syrian Home Ministry characterized the situation as escalating chaos in Sweida, with calls for dialogue and trust-building emphasized by UN officials. Meanwhile, the Syrian Foreign Ministry urged other nations to respect Syria’s sovereignty and avoid supporting rebel movements.
