Sunway Hotels & Resorts, a leading Malaysian hospitality company, is enhancing its international presence by joining the Global Hotel Alliance (GHA). Starting in mid-May 2025, all 11 Sunway hotels and resorts in Malaysia, Vietnam, and Cambodia will become part of the GHA Discovery loyalty program, which boasts 30 million members. This initiative allows guests to earn and redeem Discovery dollars (D$1 = USD 1) during their stays, significantly expanding Sunway’s reach in Southeast Asia.
Key properties include the newly transformed 5-star Sunway Resort Hotel and the luxurious Banjarang Hot Springs Retreat in Ipoh. Future expansions are planned, with new projects in Ipoh and Penang, and an emphasis on integrating environmental management and social responsibility into their operations.
The GHA Discovery program generates substantial revenue and offers unique experiences, aligning with Sunway’s commitment to exceptional hospitality. GHA CEO Chris Hartley expressed excitement for the partnership, highlighting the added value for guests in Malaysia, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
