The 2026 Toyota BZ, a revamped version of the BZ4X, will feature significant upgrades, including a simpler name and improved performance. Key enhancements include a larger battery, increased range (up to 314 miles for certain trims), and more powerful motors, alongside new features like heat pumps, battery pre-treatment, route planning, and factory-installed North American Charging Standard (NACS) ports for easier charging access.
The outgoing BZ4X was criticized for its limited range (252 miles) and slow charging speeds, leading Toyota to address these concerns. The new model will offer two battery options: a front-wheel drive version with a 57.7 kWh battery and a more powerful 74.7 kWh pack for other trims. It can charge from 10-80% in about 30 minutes at a maximum of 150 kilowatts.
In terms of design, the BZ has subtle exterior updates and a redesigned interior featuring a larger 14-inch infotainment screen and improved materials. The vehicle is expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships later this year, with pricing details to follow.
