Swedish police are investigating the motives behind a deadly mass shooting that occurred at the Risbergska Adult Educational Center in Örebro, resulting in eleven fatalities, including the shooter, Rickard Anderson, a 35-year-old local man and former student of the school. Authorities have not confirmed Anderson’s identity but suggest he might have committed suicide following a confrontation with police. Initial reports indicate that his attack was not ideologically motivated and that he had no previous convictions. The weapon used, which may have been a hunting firearm or an automatic weapon, was legally obtained.
Local police faced criticism for delays in providing accurate information about the incident, citing the complexity of the scene. Several memorials have emerged in the community, and both the King and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson visited the site, emphasizing national solidarity and support for those affected.
