The King and Queen of Belgium will host a state dinner at Laeken Palace on June 23, 2026, for Japan’s Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako. Arriving a few days prior to relax, the royal visit began with festive ceremonies in Brussels. Both the Emperor and Empress donned elegant attire, with Empress Masako wearing lilac and salmon pink outfits, adorned with pearl jewelry.
During the grand banquet, attendees wore white tie gala costumes, showcasing various royal insignia. Empress Masako wore an ivory gown with pink lace and her diamond honeysuckle tiara. Queen Mathilde selected a custom Armani Prive dress and the Nine Provinces Tiara, complemented by diamond earrings from the earlier ceremony.
The Belgian royal family’s children attended the dinner for the first time, with the Duchess of Brabant wearing the Brabant Laurel Tiara. Other royals, including Princess Astrid, also graced the event with their regal adornments. The evening highlighted both the ceremonial and fashion aspects of royal diplomacy.
