Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has been experiencing significant air conditioning issues due to power outages, exacerbated by Florida’s heat wave, with conditions only partially improving. Guests reported indoor temperatures reaching the low 80s during outages that began last Thursday. As of June 21, some areas have seen partial recovery, but many rooms remain uncomfortably warm, with temporary air conditioning units installed in select locations.
The main building continues to suffer from heat, affecting guest rooms and dining areas. Although some restaurants like Whispering Canyon Cafe were temporarily closed, they reopened under less-than-ideal conditions. Guests have received support from staff, including portable fans, and cooling stations offering drinks.
Compensation for affected guests varies, with some receiving refunds or alternative accommodations. Disney has not officially confirmed the cause of the outages or if the issue is fully resolved. Guests are encouraged to contact Disney for updates on their reservations.
