Universal Studios Hollywood is unveiling its latest attraction, the “Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift” coaster, which pays tribute to the late Paul Walker, known for his role as Brian O’Connor. The ride features two iconic cars from the series, including Walker’s blue 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R and orange 1994 Toyota Supra, along with vehicles driven by other characters.
Scheduled to open this summer, the coaster promises a high-intensity experience with speeds up to 112 mph and a smooth ride over a 4,100-foot track, despite its intensity. Park executive John Corfino emphasized the realism of the experience, including sound effects and a fake odometer, making it feel like a true car ride.
Walker, who passed away in a car accident in 2013, was commemorated in “Fast and Furious 7” using CGI. Although the ride was initially slated to open on June 26, this date has been corrected, and an official announcement regarding the release is forthcoming. Visitors have already had sneak peeks of the ride, which is temporarily closed to the public.
