Animalland Park, located in rural New Brunswick, began as the personal artistic project of sculptor Winston Bronham, who transitioned from wooden to concrete sculptures after his earlier works were destroyed in a fire. In the 1960s and 70s, he created numerous concrete animals, turning the area into an eccentric blend of art studios, roadside attractions, and playgrounds.
The park features around 60 sculptures, including a notable emaciated racehorse named “Blow Hard.” After Bronham’s passing in 1991, Animalland fell into disrepair until it reopened as a campground in 2016, offering a unique, slightly surreal atmosphere.
For visitors, the campground provides electric and water hookups for tents and RVs and is described as family-friendly with a 4-star Google rating. It’s situated near scenic attractions like the Fundy Trail Parkway and additional amenities in Sussex. Reservations can be made through the campground’s Facebook page or by phone.
