Lifeguard Jake Beckley described witnessing the biggest waves of his career, emphasizing the extent of beach erosion and the high tide that reached The Beachcomber Restaurant. Longtime visitors like Sandra and Rigo Garcia have noted significant changes to the beach over the years, acknowledging both the beauty and danger the current conditions pose.
An environmental scientist highlights that climate change and rising sea levels will likely lead to more frequent and severe coastal events. Amid ongoing beachgoer enjoyment, warnings persist about dangerous rip currents and coastal flooding, with the National Weather Service advising safety precautions, such as swimming near lifeguards.
