A Houston man, Abdulrahman Oluwatumike Oriyomi, 25, faces felony charges for using a fraudulent boarding pass to board a United Airlines flight at George Bush Intercontinental Airport on May 18. The incident delayed the flight for about three hours and involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and TSA.
Oriyomi passed through a TSA checkpoint, failed to scan his boarding pass at one gate, then approached another gate and boarded United Flight 469 while airport employees were distracted. After taxiing, the crew discovered Oriyomi’s seat was not assigned, prompting the aircraft to return to the gate.
Investigators later found that the boarding pass was a forgery, lacking key information like a QR code. Prosecutors requested a $25,000 bail and restrictions against travel and firearms possession. The case is ongoing in Harris County’s 180th District Court.
