Cascade East Transit (CET) is launching "Tri-Transit Week" from June 1-5 in Central Oregon to encourage the community to use public transportation. During this week, riders can enjoy free rides on the Bend Fixed Route and Redmond Flex Routes during peak hours (6 a.m. – 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.). A community challenge will promote local events and destinations.
The initiative, aimed at making transit fun and accessible, will feature pop-up events at various locations, including Hawthorne Station and the Redmond Transit Hub, with activities such as free ice cream, games, and raffles for bus passes.
Key events throughout the week include:
- June 1: Kickoff with a community gathering and a Ride-and-Dine event.
- June 2: Pop-up events in Redmond and Bend, plus a celebration gathering.
- June 3: Farmers Market Challenge and library pop-up.
- June 4: Redmond Community Day.
- June 5: Final celebrations and raffle draws.
Promotions include free rides, a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Monthly Pass offer, and discounted annual passes. More details can be found on CET’s Transit Week page.
