Foxconn is enhancing healthcare in Taiwan by deploying NVIDIA’s AI technology at major medical centers, transitioning from isolated AI tools to a coordinated workforce of AI agents for improved clinical care. Their CoDoctor AI platform, integrated with NVIDIA NemoClaw and Nurabot nursing cobots, has progressed from pilot testing to active clinical use. This initiative is part of the $1.5 billion Healthy Taiwan project aimed at addressing challenges like an aging population and clinician shortages.
The new Agentic AI is designed to coordinate care seamlessly across various clinical settings, while specialized agents handle tasks from documentation to logistics. Key agents include the ECG AI Agent for efficient patient triage, Corovia for rapid heart 3D reconstruction, and Endovia for advanced colonoscopy support.
Foxconn’s AI systems are being deployed in major hospitals to optimize workflows and enhance patient care. Their Scrub Bot assists in operating rooms, while Nurabot, a collaborative nursing robot, automates logistical tasks, allowing nurses to focus on patient care.
To ensure safe integration of robots in hospitals, Foxconn utilizes digital twins for training and validation. This approach has notably expedited deployment times and improved accuracy.
Taiwan’s Healthy Taiwan initiative is backed by the government and aims to create a sovereign AI-driven healthcare system, making it a model for other nations facing similar health challenges. With 85 AI solutions already approved, Taiwan’s healthcare sector is transforming, impacting over 14 million patients annually.
