Top-10 senior Bruce Branch III has committed to BYU, marking the third consecutive five-star recruiting class for Coach Kevin Young. Branch announced his decision on ESPN’s NBA Today. After reclassifying from the 2027 class to the current senior class, he favored BYU, citing the school’s family atmosphere, strong academics, and serious approach to basketball.
Branch, a 6-foot-7 wing, values the vision Coach Young has for his development, drawing parallels to successful players like Devin Booker and BYU’s Egor Demin and AJ Divanza. He emphasized the importance of a tailored plan for his growth and his desire to lead the team to success.
Ranked #6 in the SC Next 100, Branch averaged 15.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while shooting 39% from beyond the arc in his recent season. He possesses great offensive versatility and defensive capability, highlighted by his 7-1 wingspan.
Branch is the third addition to BYU’s freshman class, joining other recruits like Abdullah Ahmed and K.J. Perry. The Cougars also have Dean Rueckert and Will Openshaw in their 2026 class.
