This year’s top beach is Isla Pasion in Mexico, known for its snorkeling opportunities and nesting sea turtles. Greece boasts two top spots: Elafonissi Beach in Crete ranks as the best in Europe with its pink sand and family-friendly lagoon, while Balos Lagoon follows closely for its stunning turquoise waters.
Other notable beaches include Portugal’s Praia da Falesia and La Perosa Beach in Sardinia. This year also introduces a “unique” category, highlighting Boulders Beach in South Africa, home to endangered penguins, and Isola Bella in Sicily, famous for its scenic views and access at low tide. Bamburgh Beach in the UK, characterized by its historic castle, rounds out the unique list. The rankings help travelers plan their summer getaways amidst the dreary winter weather.
