The 3-on-3 Unrivaled League made history at its inaugural tour stop in Philadelphia, attracting a record 21,490 fans to Xfinity Mobile Arena—marking the highest attendance for any women’s professional basketball game. The event began with community activities and clinics, leading to two exciting games on Friday, where the Phantoms and Lunar Owls secured victories.
League co-founder Nafeesa Collier expressed joy over the turnout, stating it reflects the growing support for women’s basketball. This was Philadelphia’s first women’s professional game since the ABL’s Philadelphia Rage in 1998, and the city is set to host a WNBA expansion team in 2030.
The event drew numerous celebrities, including women’s basketball legend Dawn Staley and NFL star Jason Kelce. Collier announced plans for more tour stops next season, while players like Marina Mabry expressed excitement over the fan support and the prospect of expanding to other cities. The league will resume in Miami, with regular-season games continuing through February and playoffs scheduled for early March.
