In internal Slack channels, over 26,000 employees are sharing memes and jokes to ease tensions, particularly targeting founder Jeff Bezos’ “two pizza rule,” which emphasizes keeping meetings small.
Memes include clever takes on the rule, such as a pizza slice captioned with “How do you feed two pizza teams?” and relatable comments about team sizes becoming leaner. Some employees expressed their anxiety through memes referencing corporate culture and the uncertainty surrounding potential layoffs. One meme humorously checked whether employees could still log in or needed to prepare for HR meetings.
Additionally, similar behaviors have been observed in other tech giants like Google, where employees previously shared memes in response to layoffs.
