Fred Dixon, President and CEO of Brand USA, highlighted significant growth in travel from India to the U.S., marking India as the second largest international source market. During a visit to Bengaluru for Brand USA Travel Week, he noted a 40% increase in visitor numbers since 2019, with over 2 million Indian tourists in 2025.
Dixon mentioned that while New York, California, and Florida remain popular, Indian travelers are increasingly exploring other regions. He emphasized the importance of a large U.S. delegation at the event, consisting of roughly 75 representatives from various travel sectors to engage with Indian partners.
Looking forward, Dixon identified 2026 as a milestone year for U.S. tourism due to major events like the FIFA World Cup, the U.S. 250th anniversary, and Route 66’s anniversary. He explained that Indian tourists not only contribute significantly to travel volume but also spending due to their discerning travel choices.
Dixon expressed optimism about the future of the India-U.S. travel corridor, predicting continued growth and citing upcoming major sporting events as long-term demand boosters.
