As Thanksgiving approaches, consumers may need to check local grocery store hours for last-minute ingredients, as many retailers will have altered schedules. Notably, Target and Costco will be closed on Thanksgiving, while some grocery stores, like Food Lion and HEB, will operate with limited hours.
Food Lion will close at 3 p.m. (4 p.m. in select Virginia locations), and HEB from 6 a.m. to noon. Kroger will close at noon, and Stop & Shop will be open until 3 p.m. in select states. However, Wegmans will close at 4 p.m., and many Whole Foods locations will operate from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stores such as CVS and Dollar General will remain open, while Home Depot, IKEA, and multiple others will be closed.
Fast food options vary, with Burger King open, Dunkin operating regular hours, while Chick-fil-A and many Subway locations will be closed. The stock market will be closed, and only Priority Mail Express will deliver for USPS on Thanksgiving.
After the holiday, Black Friday will see many retailers opening early, with Best Buy, JC Penney, Kohl’s, and others starting at 5 a.m. or 6 a.m.
