The DJI Osmo Action 6 is a new action camera that introduces more advanced controls, such as adjustable aperture settings (f/2.0 to f/4.0) for adjusting background blur, making it appealing to experienced users. Unlike typical action cameras, which are “set it and forget it,” the Osmo Action 6 allows for manual image adjustments, enhancing low-light shooting and offering features like 4K video at 60 fps and a new 1/1.1-inch square sensor. The camera maintains a design similar to the Osmo Action 5 Pro, featuring magnetic mount compatibility and 13.5 stops of dynamic range, although it lags behind some competitors, like the GoPro Hero 13, in resolution options.
The Osmo Action 6 will be available internationally, but there are restrictions on its availability in the U.S. due to government policies regarding DJI’s ties to China. There’s currently no set timeline for its release in the U.S., mirroring challenges faced with other DJI products recently.
