On the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, comedian Adam Carolla criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom for blaming climate change on the Palisades wildfires, arguing that the fires resulted from poor local management. Carolla pointed out that cities like New Orleans and Las Vegas have thrived despite natural disasters, suggesting that California’s leadership failed to prepare adequately for the fire by neglecting tasks such as brush clearance and reservoir maintenance.
Both Carolla and Rogan emphasized that Los Angeles has historically faced wildfires due to its dry climate, asserting that the issue lies not in climate change, but in preparedness. Carolla further dismissed claims about rising sea levels by noting the high property values of waterfront land, suggesting it contradicts the narrative of imminent flooding.
In response, Newsom’s office refuted their claims, stating that preparations were indeed made in advance of the wildfires and highlighting factors like historically dry conditions and strong winds as significant contributors to the fires.
