New Jersey residents should prepare for severe weather over the coming days, with conditions expected to improve by Halloween night. A coastal storm system is set to bring northeasterly winds with gusts of 25 to 30 mph, especially along the coast, alongside light showers. Tuesday’s temperatures will be in the mid to upper 50s, cooling to the 40s overnight.
The main storm will hit Thursday, bringing moderate to heavy rain (1 to 3 inches), with a risk of flooding in urban and poorly drained areas. Wind gusts could reach 35 to 40 mph along the coast, raising concerns for coastal flooding. Temperatures Thursday will rise slightly into the low 60s.
By Halloween, conditions are forecasted to improve, with high temperatures in the mid to upper 50s, although winds may still gust at 30 to 40 mph. The weekend will be dry with temperatures remaining seasonally cool. Another coastal low may bring more unsettled weather early next week.
