Summary of Resident Evil 0 Remake Announcement
Following the success of the Resident Evil remake, Capcom is set to develop more remakes, with "Resident Evil 0" confirmed to be in progress. The remake, codenamed "Chambers" after main character Rebecca Chambers, has been in development for several years, with voice and performance work starting in 2024. John McClaren, known for his roles in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Far Cry 5," is cast as the lead, likely portraying Billy Cohen.
The remake will maintain the original’s core story while expanding on it. Notably, a new subplot involving a train conductor—absent in the original—will feature a betrayal scene where he traps Rebecca with zombies. Additionally, a mysterious unnamed character will play a significant role in the plot.
Insider reports suggest we’ll first see a "Code Veronica" remake in early 2027, with the "Resident Evil 0" remake targeting a 2028 release. Capcom aims to provide a superior remake experience over re-releases of classic titles.
